Today is officially the first day of Spring, but even if you didn’t own a calendar, you would know Spring has arrived.
For weeks now, the weather has been turning warmer and the days are becoming longer. There is a freshness in the air which comes with the newness of life that only Mother Nature can bring after the dark days of Winter.
As a lover of nature, I look for all of those little signs that say Spring has arrived like Daffodils blooming, grass turning green, and calves being born…and the occasional sneeze from those blooming allergies. Spring is also the rebirth of things which have died in the Winter, and it signals the start of new beginnings and new life.
There is another sign of Spring’s arrival and comes in the form of jelly beans, colored eggs, and chocolate crosses… leaving no doubt in my mind that God planned Easter to be celebrated in the Springtime where the resurrection of His son was the ultimate example of rebirth and all things becoming new again.
God raised His son from the sting of death so that we, too, may be born again and live a brand new life.
1 Peter 1:3
“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead…“
